Real estate agents come in all flavors; big, small, her, him, skinny, fat, smart, not so smart, happy, sad, easy to work with, etc. They don't have much in common except that they should be someone you TRUST to help you with your real estate transaction.

TRUST is defined as:
noun

1. firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something.
"relations have to be built on trust"

Your agent works for you. Yes, for YOU! What exactly does that mean? The relationship you have with your agent should first and foremost be grounded in TRUST. Your agent has to be a good listener who's able to understand clearly your needs and wants. The agent will be negotiating on your behalf in your transaction and must put your welfare above all else. You'll be looking for advice as the transaction moves forward and TRUSTing your agent to guide you.

Along with this relationship comes your TRUST in the ability and reliability of your agent. Do you feel that your agent knows the market and uses that knowledge to your benefit? Is he/she reliable? Do you TRUST them to follow up with you and answer questions as they arise? Does your agent provide a high level of professionalism or are they haphazardly serving as your advocate?

Use caution when choosing your real estate agent. You must TRUST them to work for you...while in your presence and your absence while handling your transaction.
